Art by Rosette Schureman on display at 4 Elements Studio

UTICA — The public is invited to attend a free opening reception from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 at 4 Elements Studio, 730 Broadway, featuring local painter and multimedia artist Rosette Schureman.

Her work will be on view and available for purchase through Nov. 10.

Born in Princeton, N.J., Schureman came to central New York to attend Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute and received her fine arts degree from Syracuse University. She now lives in Barneveld, where she works on her family farm and maintains her painting and printmaking studios.

Inspired by natural objects and landscapes, Schureman incorporates organic materials and pieces of her digital photography into her paintings and collages, along with rice paper, acrylic, watercolor and pastels.
