2020 Reader Challenge kicks-off at Kirkland Town Library


CLINTON — Kirkland Town Library, 55 1/2 College St., will host the 2020 Reading Challenge.

Patrons can stop by the library to pick up a list of the challenges and start reading. Options are available for adults, teens and children. Prizes will be awarded to everyone who finishes.

New Extended Winter Hours

This winter, the library will be open on Saturdays until 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

Fourth Annual
Chocolate Throwdown

Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m.

Calling all chocolate lovers, bakers, and tasters. The library is looking for a few good bakers to make their best chocolate delights, and tasters to vote for their favorites. Bakers should register with the library by Feb. 3; tasters can bring their sweet tooth on Feb. 6.

Doll Spa

Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.

Bring your doll to the library and you can both get some special treatments that will give you both a bright, new look. For kids of all ages and their dolls. Contact the library to sign up.

Monday Book Club

Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.

All are welcome to a conversation on “Travels With Charley,” by John Steinbeck.

Monday Movies

Feb. 10 and 24 at 2 p.m.

Join patrons to watch a movie on the big screen. Popcorn will be served. Check the library’s website for movie title.

Art Show Opening

Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 6-7:30 p.m.

All are welcome to an opening reception for “Quilting Outside the Box,” by Jayne Morris Stoll. Refreshments will be served.
