On Feb. 24, the Friends of Rogers will host The Zed Den for “Snowshoe Yoga.”
A unique opportunity to increase wellness during winter, “Showshoe Yoga” encourages participants to join in a gentle practice of outdoor yoga beginning at 1 p.m. The Zen Den and Friends of Rogers invite all experience levels to bring a love of nature, patience, and an open mind to explore different breath techniques and meditations.
The Zen Den’s mission is to assist others in cultivating a more balanced life – mind, body, and spirit. Studio owner and ‘Family Friend Yoga’ coordinator Kriss Young is a pilates instructor, Master personal trainer, and nutrition consultant. She has certifications from the National Personal Training Institute (Orlando, Fla.) and the Stott Pilates Reformer Certification (Las Vegas, Nev). Young has studied with The Les Mills Body Flow, Yogi Beans, Total Barre, Zen*ga, Halo Trainer, and Merrithew Health & Fitness.
“We are excited to offer this new wellness opportunity in partnership with The Zen Den,” said Simon Solomon, executive director. “Practicing yoga surrounded by nature is an excellent way to manage stress. This special ‘Snowshoe Yoga’ offers the unique opportunity for a deeper connection to our environment.”
Depending on weather conditions, complimentary snowshoes will be used for this program. “Snowshoe Yoga” will begin at the Visitor Center on Route 80 in Sherburne; those needing to may use the adjacent parking lot, and the Center is accessible. Pre-registration is required by noon on Feb. 23 at $18 for members or $20 for not-yet-members; call 607-674-4733 or email execdir@FriendsofRogers.org for more details.
