Ursula E. Walker, 79, of Holland Patent, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Faxton - St. Luke’s Healthcare.
She was born on September 10, 1938 in Rome, NY, the daughter of Harry and Marion (Longley) Tyler. Ursula was a graduate of Holland Patent Central School. On October 12, 1957 she was united in marriage to Vincent Walker in Holland Patent and shared a blessed union of 39 years, until his passing on April 21, 1997. Ursula was employed with Rome DDSO as a therapy aide until her retirement in 1991 after many years of state service. She was an active member of the VFW Upton Post, Leon R. Robert Post and the 40 & 8 Club. Ursula loved to volunteer with many organizations and she loved to play slot machines and golf in her spare time.
Ursula was fortunate to find love, strength and companionship with George Humphrey. Together they enjoyed winters in Florida, traveling, playing cards and eating out.
Surviving are her daughters, Sandra (Daniel) Mack, NC and Julie (Randy) Ramsey, Floyd; sons, Robert (Cathy) Walker, Stittville and David Walker, Holland Patent; grandchildren, Steven Mack, Kristen Mack, Cory (Holly) Abrams and Hannah Walker; great-granddaughter, Sakari DeGrant; sister-in-law, Ruth Walker; brother-in-law, Rodney (Anna) Walker; special niece, Debbie Boss and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Marion Geary, grandson, Ryan Mack and several brothers-in-law.
Ursula’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the multiple medical personal in New York and Florida for their care and compassion over the years.
In keeping with Ursula’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Holland Patent Cemetery. Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 7944 Steuben St., Holland Patent.
