Thresa S. Bowman, 84, of Taberg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in McConnellsville on August 21, 1933, the daughter of the late Stanley and Albina Butrym Smolenski. She was a graduate of Camden High School. On August 1, 1953 she married Randall Bowman and together they shared a blessed union of 64 years.
Thresa retired in 1975 after spending many years at Camden Middle School. She previously worked at General Cable and Harden Furniture.
She was a parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Lee Center.
Thresa and Randall enjoyed camping with friends and spent many winters in Myrtle Beach and Florida.
Surviving besides her loving husband, Randall and her beloved dog Sugar, are two daughters, Patricia Box of Lee Center and Cynthia (Scott) Kersey of Baldwinsville; three sons, Daniel (Kathy) Bowman of Columbus, OH, Kevin (Jayne) Bowman of Ocala, FL and Todd (Cindy) Bowman of Camden; a sister, Esther Dahn of Harrisonville, MO; a sister-in-law, Margaret Smolenski of Camden; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two on the way; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jennie Kimball and Albina Fox; and three brothers, Stanley, Zygmont and Walter Smolenski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Lee Center. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Thresa’s memory may be made to the Taberg Volunteer Fire Department or Hospice and Palliative Care.
