WESTMORELAND — The investigation is ongoing after a threatening, tattered note was found at Westmoreland Middle School on Wednesday.
Sheriff’s deputies said the note was found in a restroom with a “concerning message” at about noon on Tuesday at the Route 233 school.
The district’s school resource officer met with faculty and enacted the building’s emergency plan, which involved dispatching additional law enforcement units from the Sheriff’s Office, state police and Utica Police.
The building was searched with K9 units and nothing harmful was found.
Authorities said the students and faculty were never in any danger.
The investigation into the note is continuing.
Anyone with information about the note is asked to call Inv. Justin Copperwheat at 315-765-2767. All calls will be kept confidential.
