SUNY Poly gets high grades from U.S. News & World Report


SUNY Polytechnic Institute has been ranked 18th in a 2019 list of Best Colleges in the Regional Universities North category by U.S. News & World Report, and 11th in the Best Value Schools category in that region, SUNY Poly announced.

The college remains third in Top Public Regional Universities North for the third year in a row, and is ranked eighth for Best Colleges for Veterans amid Regional Universities North, said SUNY Poly.

SUNY Poly has campuses in Marcy and Albany.

For the Best Colleges in the Regional Universities North category, 141 universities were ranked overall, SUNY Poly noted. It added that the annual rankings included grouping schools based on their Carnegie Classification, created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

SUNY Poly interim President Grace Wang congratulated the college’s faculty and staff for their work that “allows our students to enjoy an excellent academic experience for an incredible value....” She added “these rankings are a wonderful testament to this institution’s high-quality educational programs, and we hope our current and prospective students will leverage the academic and campus offerings as well as the exciting opportunities that await them here.”

SUNY Poly said that throughout the past year it has seen increased enrollment in programs such as Interactive Media and Game Design and Biology.

It has also continued to expand various other programs and course offerings.
