The following winter break activities are being offered at the Utica Children’s Museum:
Wednesday, Feb. 21
Noon to 2 p.m.: Make a Tie Dye Shirt (shirts provided).
2 to 4 p.m.: Indoor Baseball. Join Herkimer College baseball player Matt Boone and learn fundamentals of fielding, throwing and a little batting with soft stress balls. Aimed at ages 6-10.
Thursday, Feb. 22
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Paper Bag Puppet Making Contest. Photos will be posted on the Museum’s Facebook page for a chance to win a family membership
1 to 2 p.m.: Fashion and Jewelry Making. Aimed at ages 6 and up, Herkimer College fashion students will walk kids through illustrating clothing designs and making a bracelet or necklace accessory to take home.
Friday, Feb. 23
Beach Day: Beach Ball Volleyball on the 3rd floor, sand art in the Art Studio and more.
CollegeWorks student Angus Armstrong will present his “Growing Up Under the Sea” puppet show. Includes four 15 minute shows.
Saturday, Feb. 24
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: 3rd Floor TakeOver with Retro Fitness including Kids Bootcamp, Kids Zumba. Also at 11 a.m., Make a Pet Rock in the Art Studio.
Sunday, Feb. 25
Wear red, white and blue to celebrate USA’s Olympic athletes and get $1 off admission.
Admission is $8, $6 for children. “Museums for All” program grants $1 admission for up to four individuals per EBT card.
