Rome Memorial Hospital’s booth at the Rome Expo, Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15, at Kennedy Arena, will offer visitors a glimpse into the comprehensive services that have earned the hospital national recognition for its commitment to quality and patient safety.
A video will highlight community members who can speak to the benefits of having Rome Memorial Hospital’s advanced technology, skilled professionals and comprehensive services close to home.
In addition, professionals from throughout the hospital will be on hand to talk about their
many different areas of expertise:
• Lymphedema therapists will be at the booth on Saturday from 9:45 a.m.–3 p.m. and Sunday, 9:45 a.m.–noon. Lymphedema is a swelling in the extremities as a result of cancer, diabetes or other diseases or injuries. The therapists can explain the causes and symptoms of lymphedema and how therapy can help reduce swelling and improve quality of life.
Knowledge is power. Learn about Hereditary Cancer Risk Screening from medical imaging professionals on Saturday, 11:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Rome Memorial Hospital’s genetic screening program is designed to help individuals and physicians make informed decisions about personal and family history of cancer.
The program is the only one in the area and is now offered to all breast imaging patients at the Women’s Imaging Center.
Rome Memorial Hospital has earned national recognition as a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) facility. Visitors to the hospital’s booth may also enter to win a Fitbit activity tracker. When wearing the wireless device, you can track the number of steps walked, your heart rate, quality of sleep, steps climbed and other personal metrics.
