Richard R. Miner, 63, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 8, 2018. He was born in Rome on December 22, 1954, the son of the late Wilfred and Dixie Heilig Miner. He was a graduate of Oriskany High School. On August 28, 1982, he married Roxanne Spaven.
Richard was a truck driver for several years for several area companies and worked most recently at RB Humphreys Inc. in Westmoreland.
Rich loved to go fishing, especially in Mud Bay.
Surviving besides his loving wife of 40 years, Roxanne, is a daughter, Amanda Miner-Murphy of Sterling Heights, MI; four sons, Richard Miner of Rome, Randy (Feidy) Miner of Rome, Casey Miner of Rome and Justin (Angela) Miner of Rome; three brothers, Steven Miner of Rome, Patrick Miner of Rome and Gerald Miner of Florida; seven grandchildren, Gabriella, Xsavior, Alexia, Jonathan, Yeana, Collin and Emersyn; two great-grandchildren, Leiliana and Valentina; his mother-in-law, Aileen Spaven; uncle Billy Miner; and several nieces and nephews, including Kimberly Perez. He was predeceased by a sister, Pamela Perez.
Rich’s family would like to thank Dr. Kandiah and the “girls” for their wonderful care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Life Church, 1110 Black River Blvd, Rome. There are no calling hours.
