A free holiday music concert will be presented at Rome’s Capitol Theatre, 220 W. Dominick St., tonight (Dec. 11) at 7:30.

The Mohawk Valley Community College Band and the Utica College Concert Band will present seasonal favorites including Leroy Anderson’s “Christmas Festival” and “Sleigh Ride,” classical repertoire and novelty numbers.

Also appearing in this year’s concert will be the Licorice Sticks Clarinet Quartet under the direction of Diane Vick and the All-Star Flute Choir directed by Susanna Watling.

Admission to the concert is free — tickets are not required.

For more information call the Capitol Theatre at 315-337-6453.

The MVCC Band is under the direction of Barb Seaton and the Utica College Band is led by Mike DiMeo. Both ensembles are made up of musicians of all ages and abilities, from all over the Mohawk Valley. The theater is handicapped accessible, with free parking both on-street and in near-by lots, and concessions will be available for purchase.
