Some things never seem to make sense. The city received funding to demolish the Rome Cable site. It would have been better to clear the old factories on East Dominick Street since that’s the area on which traffic enters our city from the east. Why not do the visible sites first?
The more we hear of what’s going on the more we wonder about common sense.
In conversations people can’t seem to figure out why the city would paint the name ROME in large white letters on a rusty water tower. It certainly isn’t attractive and is a poor representation for the Copper City.
These grandiose ideas about tourism and ice skating rinks leave much to be desired. People don’t care to visit where there is a lack of retail businesses. Our city needs to focus on the areas of blight and put priorities in the right place.
Last, but not least, if anyone is thinking of sitting on the swings near the canal, be prepared for the geese and all that goes with it.
