James A. “Fuzzy” Watson, Jr., 82, of Henry St., Rome, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
He was born on March 10, 1936, in Rome, the son of James A. and Ruth Marshall Watson, Sr. He attended Rome schools.
Jim was formerly employed as a bus monitor for Birnie Bus, worked in the maintenance department at Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and retired from the shipping and receiving department at Cold Point.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps where he served in Korea.
He enjoyed the outdoors and going on fishing trips with his many friends, especially his closest friend, Arthur Blanchard.
Surviving are seven children, Brian (Connie) Rathbun, of KS, Kathryn (Tom) Mott, of MO, Shawn (Laura) Watson, of KS, Rhonda (Alfred) Davis, of Rome, Cam Maiden, of KS, Dawn Watson, of TX, and Joelle, of Rome; his former wife, Beverly Watson, of Rome; a sister, Paula; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Adlaide; four brothers, Lyle, Ronald, Larry, and Howard; and a grandson, Patrick Gregory.
