HP defeats Clinton to win CSC Division I


Colin Corrigan scored a game-high 23 points for the Holland Patent boys basketball team in its 69-59 regular season finale home Center State Conference Division I win over Clinton on Monday night.

The Golden Knights won the CSC-I League crown, going a perfect 8-0 in league play.

Josh Ernst added 12 points and DJ Harter finished with 11 points, making a team-high three three-pointers.

Clinton’s Matt Hobika scored a team-high 21 points for the Warriors and made a game-high four three points.

At the half, the Warriors led 38-37.

HP finishes the regular season 16-4 overall and 8-0 in the CSC-I while Clinton is 10-10 overall and 5-3 in league play. Both teams will await their postseason fate with the Section III basketball seeding meeting scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Oriskany rolls to league title

In a season-ending CSC-IV contest, Oriskany rolled over CSC-IV foe Morrisville-Eaton, 74-38 to capture the CSC-IV league title on the road.

Ricky Phelps scored a game-high 16 points and had six rebounds and four steals for the Redskins. Aaron Warcup finished with 13 points and four boards. John Longeretta added 10 points and five assists.

Oriskany finishes with a 18-2 overall record and a 14-2 CSC-IV record.

Remsen finishes strong

In a CSC-IV boys basketball game, Remsen earned a season-ending victory with a 61-38 home victory over visiting Poland.

Both Jacob Rowlands and Hunter Jones scored a game-high 16 points each and Jason Lahan finished with 13 points for the Rams.

Remsen finishes the regular season with a 5-14 overall record and a 3-11 CSC-IV record.

Wildcats suffer setback

The Adirondack boys basketball team lost its regular season finale to CSC-I foe Sherburne-Earlville, 64-42.

Both Alex Gaylord and Brandon Mooney scored a team-high 12 points in the loss for the Wildcats. Andrew Fauvelle had 10 points for Adirondack. Both Fauvelle and Mooney made two three-pointers.

Adirondack finishes the season with a 4-16 overall record and 1-7 league record.
