Daniel Frank Bridgman, age 38, took his first breath in heaven on June 11, 2018 after a nearly lifelong battle with multiple cancers and their numerous resulting health issues. He was born in Rome on November 29, 1979 to Donald and Debra Stasio Bridgman, who are waiting with loving arms to greet him.
Daniel is survived by a sister Dana of Rome; aunt and uncle Anthony and Pamela Stasio McCurdy of Waldorf, MD; and his “Aunt/Godmother” and uncle Kevin and Kimberly Stasio Cooper-Crouse; cousin Valerie Peterson Frederick (Rusty Hewitt); and five half siblings, Robin (Steve) Genovese, Lizbeth, Donald, Thomas and Stanley Bridgman. He was also predeceased by grandparents Frank and JoAnn Stasio, and Ross and Maggie Simerol.
Daniel’s quirky sense of humor, pure heart and unsurpassed belief in the goodness of others never wavered through his years of physical challenges. Our family would like to extend immense gratitude to Dr. Grahame Gould and the Upstate neuroscience team for their outstanding dedication and support. We also want to share our heartfelt appreciation to Valentina Rose from The Family Advocacy Center for her genuine heart and helping to hold us up as we went the distance, and to his self-direction staff for their extraordinary devotion with helping to make Dan as happy and healthy as possible.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 5-7 p.m.
