Comets sign two players to professional tryout contracts


UTICA — The Utica Comets announced today that they have signed forward Brady Brassart and defenseman Cliff Watson to professional tryout contracts.

The Comets also announced they have released Brian Ward from his PTO.

Brassart has skated in 24 games with the Idaho Steelheads and is the teams leading scorer with 23 points, 11 goals and 12 assists. Brassart has 29 points in 120 career American Hockey League games.

Watson has skated in 21 games for the Utah Grizzles, scoring 14 points, six goals and eight assists to lead all defensemen.
