UTICA — The Utica Comets on Monday signed forward Brendan Woods to an American Hockey League contract.
The 25 year-old Woods has skated in six games with the Comets, scoring one goal and 24 penalty minutes.
Woods has played in a total of 201 career AHL games scoring 65 points, 31 goals and 34 assists, and 247 penalty minutes. Woods has also played in seven NHL games.
In another roster move, the parent Vancouver Canucks reassigned Comets goalie Michael Garteig to the Kalamazoo Wings.
Garteig has appeared in two games for the Wings, sporting a record of 2-0-0 with a .903 save percentage and a 3.50 goals against average. Garteig appeared in eight games with the Comets last season, holding a record of 0-4-1 with a .897 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA.
