The city has reached a tentative agreement with the police union for 2018 through 2022.
The Board of Estimate and Contract voted unanimously today to approve a tentative agreement with the Philip S. McDonald Police Benevolent Association. The city in late 2017 forged agreements with the other three unions representing city employees. They all cover 2018 to 2022 as well.
The PBA has 76 members, and there are two members of the related bargaining units for chiefs.
Like the three deals with the other unions, this agreement includes 2 percent wage increases for members effective on the first day of each year for all five years.
All four contracts also include a new incentive for employees who opt out of their current Traditional Plan health insurance coverage to enter the Preferred Provider Organization to get a $2,500 incentive ($5,000 for dependent coverage).
The police union agreement includes a deadline of June 29, 2018. The deadline for the previous three has already passed.
The Civil Service Employees Association represents 71 city employees, according to city officials.
The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees represents 71 city employees, primarily from public works, the city said.
The Rome Professional Firefighters Association has 74 members, as well as one member of the related bargaining unit for chiefs, officials added.
