Cheryl M. White

Cheryl M. White, 67, of Rome, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on March 3, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in Rome, NY, the eldest of three daughters, to Edward and Mildred White on September 22, 1950. She was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School in 1968 and Morrisville State College in 1970.

Cheryl pursued a lifelong career at the Law Firm of McMahon and Grow in Rome. After four decades of service to the firm, she retired in 2016.

Cheryl was as devoted an aunt as this world has ever seen. She never missed a game, birthday, prom, graduation or even the mundane events of her very special nephew and niece, Edward Crowe and Allison Wheeler. Near or far, she was always there to support them with adoration, a joke and a few wise words. Her love for Eddie and Ally would only by surpassed by a new generation: Eddie’s three children, who lit up her life.

Cheryl’s gregarious laugh, sense of humor and quick wit will be greatly missed by those who loved her so deeply. She leaves an insurmountable void in the hearts of both her sisters; each of whom she shared special bond with.

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia (Edmund) Crowe of Parish, NY, and Alena (Thomas) Wheeler of Westernville, NY; her nephew Edward (Christina) Crowe and their three children, Sophia, Samuel and Stephen of Sherman, CT; and her niece Alison Wheeler (Victor DeMasi) of Philadelphia, PA. She was predeceased by her parents Mildred and Edward White.

In accordance with Cheryl’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cheryl’s memory may be made to the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, 750 E. Adams St., CAB326, Syracuse NY 13210.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
