Assemblyman Anthony J. Brindisi will host a “tax talk” Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees, 201 Bleecker Street, Utica.
The forum will focus on the federal tax code overhaul that is working its way through Congress. The House of Representatives and Senate have to reconcile the differences in the different versions previously passed by both bodies before a final measure is sent to President Donald Trump.
Attendees can ask questions and give their views on the reforms. Also, the assemblyman, who plans to run for Congress next year, will explain his push to draft state legislation in response to one aspect of the proposed federal. He wants to protect the federal tax deduction for teachers who buy school supplies for the classroom with their own money.
