All aboard for Pirate Weekend at Sylvan Beac


Come celebrate Pirate Weekend at Sylvan Beach, July 19-22.


5:30 p.m. — Pirate invasion in the park. Pirate flags displayed in village. The Mayor will officially sanction Pirate’s weekend by raising the pirate flag at the Bandstand. Enjoy Pirate Activities throughout the village at local businesses.

5:45 p.m. — Pirate kidnapping of local celebrity and held for ransom! Captured are taken to many businesses to obtain ransom for release. All proceeds will benefit local organization


10 a.m. — Crafters, antiques, vendors throughout the Village

7 p.m. — Best of the beach pirate’s Grog Competition. Participating establishments will have available signature pirates grog for sampling. Various entertainment venues at local businesses.

Saturday: Family Fun Day

10 a.m. — Crafters, antiques, vendors throughout the Village

10 a.m. — Pirate’s Booty Treasure Hunt on the beach at 15th Avenue. Dig for buried gold coins and redeem for a toy at the “treasure chest.”

10 a.m.- 4 p.m. — Jump ‘n Play All Day- Bounce Houses with water slides-Cinderella’s Lot

Noon — “How to be a pirate” class hosted by Captain Jack at the bandstand in the Village Green

1 p.m. — 5th Annual “Pirate’s Parade” begins south of the village and moves north.

2-3 p.m. — Discovering buried treasure on the beach at 13 Avenue. Sponsored by Earth Metal Detecting Club. This is metal detecting for all ages.

8:30 p.m. — Family Bonfire on the beach at 15th Avenue

9:30 p.m. — Pirate Fireworks on the beach, sponsored by Sylvan Beach Amusement Park.


7 a.m. — Free Kid’s Fishing Tournament, East Shore Bait & Tackle. Sign-up between 7-10 a.m., be back by noon for weigh in and prizes. Call Ben for more information, 315-418-6238

8 a.m. — 5k Pirate Rum Runner/Walk throughout the beautiful village to benefit “Sitrin Veterans.” If you have any questions about this race, e-mail

9-11 a.m. — Princess & Pirate’s Breakfast at Cinderella’s Restaurant

10 a.m. — Sand Castle Contest – you may contact event coordinator Bill Shaughnessy at Admission to the contest is $10, free to anyone under the age of 16.

10 a.m. — Crafters, antiques, vendors throughout the village

11 a.m. — Pirate Boat Decorating Contest-On the Canal

Nooon  — Pirate Doggy Parade down Main Street (gather at the bandstand in the Village Green)

Bloody Mary Crawl: Specialty Bloody Mary’s throughout the beach (starting time’s differ throught participating establishments).
