Westmoreland JVs battle back for victory

After falling in the first set, the Westmoreland girls junior varsity girls volleyball team rallied back and defeated visiting Center State Conference foe Old Forge 2-1 on Saturday. Set scores were 15-25, 25-13 and 25-13.

Rachel VanDeusen had four aces and seven digs, Katie Fedor tallied two aces, four digs and seven service points, Elizabeth Sill had three aces, three kills, four digs and three assists while Joyce Pilbeam contributed with four digs and two points.

The Bulldogs improve to a 5-4 overall mark and a 3-1 record in the league.

Black Knights win 10th

The Rome Free Academy boys JV basketball team defeated visiting Baldwinsville, 73-63, on Saturday at RFA for their 10th win of the season.

Camron Williams led the Black Knights with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Jeremiah Bartholomew added 16 points and dished out six assists. Isaiah Kelly had 14 points and pulled six rebounds and Dakota Szablewski added 10 points.

RFA improves to a 10-1 mark this season with the victory.
