U-R Speedway hosting Stewart and All-Star Circuit of Champions

VERNON — Utica-Rome Speedway will welcome Tony Stewart and his Arctic Cat All-Star Circuit of Champions during a special Friday night racing program.

Gates are set to open at 4 p.m., with racing beginning at 7.

The Arctic Cat All-Star Circuit of Champions features Sammy Swindell, one of the most successful dirt track drivers in the country.

This season alone, Swindell has raced 40 times and won six of them.

Swindell has 22 top five finishes and a total of 26 top 10 finishes. He has also won the 294 World of Outlaw main event and has three World of Outlaw point titles and five Golden Driller trophies for winning the Chili Bowl Midget Race Car event.

Swindell most recently won an All-Star event, winning the 30-lap race at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa in July.

Joining Swindell are former NASCAR drivers Stewart and Dave Blaney, Carson Macedo, Aaron Reutzel, Chad Kenneth, Jac Haudenschild, Gerard McIntyre, Paul McMahan and local drivers such as Mike Mahaney, Coleman Gulick and Paulie Colagivanni.
