IAABO set to begin classes for officials

UTICA — The Utica Board of International Association of Approved Basketball Officials will begin classes for new basketball officials on Monday at 7 p.m. at Notre Dame High School, Burrstone Road.

Classes will continue on Monday, Sept. 25, Monday, Oct. 2, Tuesday, Oct. 10, Monday, Oct. 16, Tuesday, Oct. 24, Monday, Oct. 30 and conclude with the International Exam on Monday, Nov. 6.

MotorSports Night Thursday at Vernon Downs

VERNON — Originally scheduled for Sept. 7, the Vernon Downs MotorSports Night has been rescheduled for Thursday.

There will be free on-site registration, which begins at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Steve Hale of Steve’s Restorations and Hot Rods will have some of his work on display. Spectator access to the display area opens at 5.
