Boolermaker Oct. 27 at Utica Zoo
UTICA — The Boilermaker Road Race will again have a free fun run at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Utica Zoo for children ages 4-12. The Boolermaker is a Halloween-themed event.
Participation is free and includes admission for one adult and one child to the Utica Zoo, and a runner gift bag. Discounted tickets will also be available for purchase during registration for additional family members.
Check-in will begin at 9 on the morning of the event. Free parking will be available in the Utica Zoo parking lot, where participants will be directed to the check-in table and through the zoo to the run staging area. The run itself will be held on the scenic Master Garden Way. There will be family-friendly activities before heats begin at 10.
The Boolermaker at the Utica Zoo is a part of the Boilermaker Urban Initiative, the race’s community outreach arm.
Vendors who cater to local children are encouraged to contact the Boilermaker for information on how to participate.

Harlem Globetrotters coming to Utica
UTICA — The Harlem Globetrotters will be coming to the Utica Memorial Auditorium Adirondack Bank Center on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, as part of their new Fan Powered World Tour.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, online at empirestatetix.com or harlemglobetrotters.com, in-person at the Adirondack Bank Center’s box office or by calling 315-790-9070. Tickets start at $17, and group pricing and VIP packages are also available.
