Rome’s Cupp scores victory in speedgolf tourney in Missouri

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Rome’s Wes Cupp won the Missouri Speedgolf Open on Sunday at Rivercut Golf Course.

Cupp shot a 6-over par 78 in a time 51 minutes, 3 seconds on the par 5.3-mile layout for a speedgolf score of 129:03.

The second place finisher was host professional and world-ranked No. 18 Garrett Holt, who shot a 77 in 59:52 for a 136:52 total.

Cupp will compete next at the U.S. Speedgolf Open hosted at Rome Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Players from six countries have already committed to competing.

The 2018 World Championships are scheduled Oct. 15-16 at Turning Stone Casino Resort’s Shenendoah Golf Course.
