Rome native Cupp finishes first in U.S. Speedgolf Open
HOUSTON — Rome native and current Hamilton men’s and women’s golf coach Lauren Cupp won the United States Speedgolf Open on Monday at the Golf Club of Houston.
Cupp shot an 84 in 69 minutes, 29 seconds for a 153:36 total score.
Debby Murphy, a professional at Trump National in Bedminster, NJ, finished in second place with a score of 155:36.
The Golf Club of Houston annually hosts the PGA Tour’s Shell Houston Open.
Cupp is the reigning New York State Mid-Amateur Champion.
Wes Cupp finished eighth at the event and maintained his No. 1 World Speed Golf ranking.
