Rome JVs top Whitesboro in junior varsity volleyball match

The Rome Free Academy girls junior varsity volleyball team defeated Whitesboro, 2-1, on Monday night to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Set scores were 25-20, 24-26, 25-13, with the Black Knights winning the first and third sets.

Megan Magnanti led the Black Knights with 14 service points, five aces and three kills.

Jamiah Moyer added nine points, six assists and three aces, Syerra Veddar had five service points, three aces and two kills and Wirielys Delgado had four aces, two kills and nine service points.

Bulldogs swept

In another girls JV volleyball game, Westmoreland was swept by Holland Patent, 2-0 at home. Set scores were 25-9 and 25-20.

Olivia Golden led the Bulldogs with seven service points and two aces and three digs. M’Kayla Tierney had three service points with three kills and three digs.

Westmoreland falls

In a girls JV basketball game, Westmoreland fell to Clinton, 36-10. Felicia Hoage and Kayla Winchell each had three points for the Bulldogs.

Oriskany moves to 2-0

In another girls JV basketball game, Oriskany defeated Herkimer 31-23 to move to 2-0 on the season.
