Rome Free Academy wrestling team pins Little Falls

The Rome Free Academy wrestling team defeated visiting Little Falls, 51-22, on Wednesday.

James Faso, Stephan Hildenbrandt and Tejas Desai all recorded decision victories for Rome. Winning by pinfall for the Black Knights were Garrett Craft and Marc Darcangelo.

Ashton Thompson, Justin Wright, Cole Donnelly, Jack Walston and Spencer Pisaneschi all won by forfeit for RFA.

VVS downs New Hartford

In another boys wrestling match, Vernon-Verona-Sherril defeated New Hartford, 66-24, in a Tri-Valley League match.

Winning for the Red Devils by pinfall were Parker Talbot, Travis Decker, Jeremiah Brunje, Kyle Burback and Damien Muessig.

Colin Forbes, Jevit Cumber, Zachary Audette, Trai Collins, Aiden Munz and Alex Hyman all won by forfeit for VVS.

Red Devils victorious

Bryce Bechtel and Austin Marris led the VVS boys bowling team to a 8-3 victory over visiting New Hartford at the CAC in a TVL match.

Bechtel rolled the match-high game of 267 and finished with a team-high series of 655. Marris rolled a high game of 228 and also added a 655 series. Tyler Casler added a 237 game and a 646 series for the Red Devils.

Westmoreland serves up win

In a boys Center State Conference volleyball match, Westmoreland defeated Herkimer, 3-1.

Leading the way for Westmoreland was Mike Sweeney with 22 assists and four kills. Bryce Daskiewich finished with two assists, three kills and 10 digs and Sam Sill finished with six kills and two blocks for the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs earn victory

The Westmoreland girls volleyball team earned a 3-1 non-league home victory over visiting Stockbridge Valley. Set scores were 25-12, 22-25, 25-15 and 25-23.

Brooke Taverne had two aces, three kills and nine digs for the Bulldogs and Janessa Rubino had three aces, eight kills and14 assists for Westmoreland.

VVS rallies past Clinton

After dropping the first set, the VVS girls volleyball team rallied to defeat Clinton 3-1.

Set scores were 19-25, 26-16, 25-15 and 25-12.

Megan Starke had two aces, 22 assists and nine digs for the Red Devils and Sarah Wayland-Smith finished with two aces, 12 kills, two blocks and three digs for 5-5 VVS in the win. Kailey Roberts had three aces, 11 kills and seven digs in the win.

Camden bowls to TVL win

In a TVL girls bowling match, Erin Bourgeois led the Camden squad to a 7-4 victory over New Hartford.

Bourgeois rolled a 217 game and a match-high series of 583.
