RFA boys squad will visit Proctor for soccer sectionals
Ninth-seeded Rome Free Academy will play eight-seeded Proctor High at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Utica in the first round of the Section III Class AA boys soccer playoffs.
The winner will play top seed Baldwinsville at 6 p.m. Friday.
The Section III boys and girls soccer seeding meetings were held on Sunday.
In Class B, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill (No. 8 seed) hosts Camden (9) at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Clinton (4) hosts Oneida (13) at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Adirondack (11) travels to South Jefferson (6) Tuesday.
In Class C, South Lewis (2) hosts Lafayette (15) at 6 p.m. and Westmoreland-Oriskany (6) hosts Tully (11) at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
In Class D, Remsen (8) hosts Hamilton (9) at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
HP girls seeded first
In the girls soccer playoffs, Class AA No. 5 seed RFA will play at Cicero-North Syracuse, the fourth seed, on Thursday, though no start time has been announced.
In Class B, top seed Holland Patent, No. 2 seed Clinton and ninth seed VVS all have first-round byes. Adirondack, the No. 14 seed, will host Canastota at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Oneida, the No. 15 seed, travels to Phoenix at 3 p.m. Tuesday as well. Holland Patent will play the winner of General Brown and Mexico Thursday. VVS plays Cazenovia Thursday. Clinton will get the winner of the Oneida-Phoenix game at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Class C playoff first round games include Oriskany (No. 17) at Thousand Islands at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Westmoreland (12) has a first-round bye and will play No. 5 Tully Thursday.
Remsen (6) will host Brookfield (11) at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the Class D bracket.
