Miller works complete game for Smith Post

Derrick Miller tossed a complete game for Smith Post as it earned a 9-2 victory over Moran/Sylvan Beach on Friday night in a District V American Legion baseball game at Camden Yards.

Miller allowed Moran’s two runs on five hits while walking two and punching out seven.

Offensively, Smith was led by Cole Donnelly who doubled and drove in two RBIs and Gavin Chambers, who singled and also had two RBIs. Zack Taylor had two hits and drove in a RBI for Smith.

Smith is 6-2 on the season and returns to action this afternoon at DeLutis Field as they take on Oriskany Post at 2 p.m. Moran falls to 1-5.

Oriskany suffers loss

Oriskany Post lost 6-2 to Rockland Co. at DeLutis Field.

Matt Enos took the loss for Oriskany, last three innings, giving up three runs on three hits while walking two batters. Enos did not record a strikeout.

At the plate, Ricky Phelps and Kyle Liddy both had RBIs for Oriskany in the loss.

Oriskany is 2-2 on the season and next hosts Smith Post today at 2 at DeLutis Field.
