Inclement weather wreaks havoc on local sporting events
Friday night’s and Saturday’s slate of local high school sporting events were postponed due to inclement weather.
Friday night’s slate of local boys basketball games including Tri-Valley League games as Camden was set to play host to Whitesboro and Oneida was scheduled to be home to New Hartford were postponed. No make-up dates were announced.
The Rome Free Academy, Oriskany, Adirondack, Clinton, Camden, Oneida and Westmoreland girls basketball games that were also set for Friday night were also postponed.
Friday’s Section III indoor track track meet at Colgate University has also been postponed with no make-up date announced.
The Westmoreland boys basketball contest against Cooperstown that was scheduled for tonight has also been postponed. No make up date has been announced.
The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devil wrestling invitational that was scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Sunday.
Local teams set to compete at the VVS invitational are Camden and Oneida.
Weigh-ins will be from 7-8:30 a.m. and wrestling will start as close to 10 as possible. There will be a two-pound weight allowance due to the change.
The RFA and Holland Patent wrestling squads will be competing at the Cazenovia Invitational on Sunday that was originally scheduled for Saturday.
