Comets sign pair to AHL contracts
UTICA — The Utica Comets have announced that the team has signed forward Kyle Thomas and goalie Ivan Kulbakov to one-year American Hockey League contracts on Tuesday.
Kulbakov played in 22 games in the ECHL with the Quad City Mallards, finishing with an 11-11-0 record and a 3.63 goals against average and a .902 save percentage. He also played in five games with the Cleveland Monsters, posting a record of 0-5-0 and a 3.99 GAA and a .861 save percentage.
Thomas was with the Utah Grizzlies for a majority of the 2017-18 season, playing in 50 games and collecting 44 points, 14 goals and 30 assists. Thomas also played in seven games with the San Diego Gulls, picking up a goal and an assist.
Between the AHL and ECHL, Thomas has netted a total of 164 points, 61 goals and 103 assists.
