Comets defenseman Cederholm sent down to Kalamazoo of ECHL

UTICA — The Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday reassigned defenseman Anton Cederholm from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League to the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL.

Cederholm did not dress in either of the Comets’ first two games this season.

He skated in eight games with the Rogle BK of the Swedish Elite League last season while also playing in 33 games with AIK of Allsvenskan, where he scored seven points and amassed 49 penalty minutes.

In another roster movr, the Comets signed forward Brendan Woods to a professional tryout contract.

Woods skated in 24 games with the Charlotte Checkers last season, registering six points and 41 penalty minutes. He has amassed 195 career AHL games, all with Charlotte, and totaled 64 points and 223 penalty minutes.

He has also dressed for seven NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes.
