Camden and HP receive No. 1 Section III field hockey seeds

Rome Free Academy will get a first-round bye as the No. 4 seed in Section III Class A field hockey. The team will play top seed Cicero-North Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Baldwinsville.

The seeding meeting was held on Sunday.

Camden is the top seed in Class C and has a first-round bye. The Blue Devils will host the winner of the Canastota and Port Byron at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

On the other side of the bracket, three seed Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will host Cazenovia at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and second-seeded Clinton hosts Sherburne-Earlville at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The winners of those two games will play at 1 p.m. Sunday. Both Sunday games will take place at Fayetteville-Manlius.

Holland Patent is the top seed in Class B and will play against Whitesboro at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, in East Syracuse-Minoa. The team opted to move up to Class B although it is a Class C school based on enrollment.
