Area runners finish marathon
Five local runners completed the Boston Marathon on Monday.
First, Nicholas Jeror, of Rome, ran the marathon in 2 hours, 58 minutes and 36 seconds, finishing 1,258th overall. Jeror was the 1,180th male to cross the finish line.
Aaron Carey, also of Rome, finished the marathon in 3 hours, 7 minutes and 49 seconds. Carey finished in 2,427th place overall and 2,223th in the men’s division.
Daniel Pierson, of Oriskany, completed the race in 3 hours, 31 minutes and 21 seconds. Pierson finished in 7,403rd place and in 5,783rd for the men’s division.
Daniel Harding, of Oneida, finished the race in 3 hours, 32 minutes and 6 seconds. Harding ended up in 7,586th place overall and 5,889th in the men’s division.
Shirley Toth, of Rome, was the only local female runner to complete the marathon. Toth finished the race in 4 hours, 38 minutes and 17 seconds, placing 22,002th overall and 9,536th in the women’s division.
