Westmoreland moves to 3-0

Sports WESTMORELAND — Luke Fredsell scored a game-high 19 points in the Westmoreland boys basketball team’s 64-53 win over Center State Conference foe Waterville on Tuesday night. Nik Hameister added 10 for the Bulldogs in the win. Costas selected as 42nd recipient of Frick Award

Sports COOPERSTOWN — Bob Costas has been selected as the recipient of the 2018 Ford C. Frick Award by the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The award is for excellence in broadcasting. Sports Tuesday’s wintry conditions caused most area high school sports events to be postponed, incuding the Rome Free Academy hockey game at Kennedy Arena against Syracuse. Besides the hockey game, the RFA girls varsity basketball home game against Notre Dame was postponed along with the boys basketball game at Notre Dame.
