Local restaurant chain Nicky Doodles is warming the hearts of ice cream lovers through the cold winter months at the new Nicky Doodles To Go. The store is located at 1165 Erie Blvd. W., in the former Urbanik Paint Store next to the store’s main location. It offers soft serve ice cream and also hard ice cream in pint-sized portions from noon-6 p.m. each day except for Mondays.

Nicky Doodles also has locations in Verona and New Hartford. The New Hartford location only serves ice cream. While no food is offered at the 1165 Erie Blvd. W. location, the ice cream helps fans of the chain experience the store’s commitment to quality until spring arrives.

“Nicky Doodles has a good reputation, its workers are clean and professional, and the ice cream store helps build anticipation among its customer base who are waiting for the store to reopen,” Operations Manager Stephanie Conroy said.

Nicky Doodles To Go offers a cornucopia of ice cream cakes and pies. These include banana split and strawberry shortcake cakes, chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches and six-pack ice cream sandwiches. The store also offers specialty ice cream cakes, including those made to order.

These cakes may be ordered at 315-795-2024. Conroy said they take between two and three days to be made. Nicky Doodles To Go has been open since late November.

The to-go location will close to the public on March 9 for the season, but will still make the ice cream items that will be for sale at the other locations. The original Rome location and the one in Verona will both open March 10, with the New Hartford location opening soon after that, though no specific date has been set.
