Mohawk Valley Community College’s Center for Corporate and Community Education (CCED), which provides leisure learning and professional training to 7,900 people in the surrounding region every year, received one of 20 Learning Resources Network (LERN) International awards during the organization’s annual conference in Savannah, Ga., earlier this month.

The CCED team won the 2019 LERN International Award for Best Marketing for their work in using data analytics to better market their lifelong learning programs to local consumers. Over the past few years, CCED has used registration data and data available from LERN to increase the effectiveness of its print mailings, expand targeted email marketing, and
reward best customers. Their efforts have resulted in growing enrollment.

“With more than one thousand organizations engaged in lifelong learning as members of LERN, winning an International Award is an outstanding event,” said LERN President William A. Draves. “These awards enhance the quality and involvement in lifelong learning, an absolutely critical component to individual and community quality of life and prosperity in this century.”

LERN is the world’s largest association in continuing education and lifelong learning, offering information and consulting expertise to providers of continuing education and customized training. Founded in 1974, LERN serves more than 9,000 professionals every year.
