REMSEN — Sara Mierek, 16, the daughter of George Mierek Jr. and Kelly Ewing-Mierek of Remsen, has been approached by Triple Crown Feed, Inc. to participate in the Triple Crown Insider Program.

Sara serves on the Board
of Directors for Barneveld
Horsemen’s Association and is a junior at Holland Patent Central School.

“A Triple Crown Insider helps us reach the next generation of riders to encourage them in their growth as riders and horsemen, as well as expanding the outreach of Triple Crown Nutrition to the next group of decision-makers,” Triple Crown Insider Program officials said.

“A great Insider is passionate about horses, passionate about riding, passionate about our brand and is very social,” the program officials added.

They said, “We are excited to have this wonderful young rider join the Triple Crown Insider Program.”

“Sara has a serious dedication to the development of both herself and the horses she works with,” the announcement said, adding that “Sara has demonstrated her passion for horses and passion for riding in both the jumper and hunter rings with championships with such equine partners: Dora the Explorer, Rio Grande, Cozykins, Ariel, Secret Agent and Miss Garne.”

At the age of 15, Mierek was elected to the Board of Directors for Barneveld Horsemen’s Association.

She has been competing in the jumper ring at the Syracuse PHA Shows. Out of 25 entries she has consistently placed in the top ribbons against professionals and amateur riders, the program officials said.

While showing a green horse, Mierek was awarded second place for the “Horse of the Year Award” with Barneveld Horsemen’s Association.

Her goals for the upcoming year include continuing to bring along hunters and jumpers up through the ranks at local and rated shows.

She also plans to continue working with her father, George, to continue the family farm’s breeding program.

Mierek said she also wants to become one of the riders in the USEF/USHJA Emerging Athlete Program.
