Center offers fitness classes

Ava Dorfman Senior Center, 305 E. Locust St., will host a series of new fitness classes in the fall.

  • Excellus BlueCross/BlueShield will present the “Walk with Ease” program. A new session begins Oct. 1, and will be held 9-10 a.m. Monday; 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday for six weeks. The program is free.
  • Intermediate Line Dancing. A new session begins Sept. 4 and will be held 3:30-4:30 p.m. for eight week.s Cost is $38, $28 for members or $5 per class.
  • Basic Fitness: A new session begins Sept. 5 and will be held 2:45-3:45 p.m. for eight weeks. Cost is $38, $28 for members or $5 per class.
  • Senior Stretch Yoga: A new session begins Sept. 14 and will be held 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for eight weeks. Cost is $50, $40 for members.
  • Intermediate Clogging: A new session begins Sept. 12 and will be held 10:30 a.m. to noon for eight weeks. Cost is $30, $20 for members or $3 per class.
  • Stay Young, Strong Bones: A new session begins Sept. 12 and will be held 12:30-1:30 p.m. for eight weeks for $30, $20 for members.
  • Chair Pilates: A new session begins Sept. 17 from 2:15-3:15 p.m. for eight weeks. Cost is $28, $38 for non-members or $5 per class.
  • Body Sculpting & Balance: A new session begins Sept. 10 to be held 3:30-4:30 p.m. for eight weeks. Cost is $38, $28 for members or $5 per class. There must be five participants in order to hold the class.
  • Beginner Zumba sessions will resume Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Thursday, Sept. 13. Class will be held noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursdays for eight weeks. Cost is $38, $28 for members or $5 per class. There must be five participants signed up to begin.
  • Beginner/Intermediate Tai Chi: Classes will resume Sept. 18 and will be held Tuesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to noon. Cost is $34, $24 for members or $3 per class.
