ZBA to hear request from paving company
The Zoning Board of Appeals will hear a new application from Alliance Paving Materials for construction of three silos when it meets next on Wednesday, March 7.
The five-member volunteer board will meet at 6:30 p.m. on March 7 in the Common Council chambers at City Hall.
The lone new agenda item is a two-part request from Alliance for its location at 846 Lawrence St. The company is seeking a special use permit for permission to construct three blacktop silos in the area of the production facility. The proposed silos will be 62 feet high, and a materials conveyor structure will be 80 feet high. An area variance is also needed, because the additions will encroach into the required 50-foot front yard set back.
The 4.3-acre parcel is assessed for $73,800, according to city records.
The board could also act on the previously tabled area variance request from Olney’s Real Estate of Rome, for the parcel at 7820 Rome-Westernville Road.
The company is seeking permission to increase the sign area of a business identification sign and reduce the required clearance between ground and the bottom of the sign.
The company has its floral shop at the 2002 N. James St. location and its landscape center at 6855 Wright Settlement Road, both near the lot under
