Salvation Army offers free music program for children
In September of 2017, The Salvation Army of Rome opened its doors to neighborhood children, offering a free music school with music nights weekly at the 410 W. Dominick St. facility.
“Developing any skill takes time and over the course of the year these children have worked very hard sharpening their music skills as they learn to play the instrument of their choice, sing, and dance,” program officials said.
“Recently, we entered a music competition held within The Salvation Army. This competition is comprised of children from all over the state of New York. The Rome Salvation Army Corps entered three categories and received second place for two of them,” the local organization said in an announcement.
