The Rome Rotary Club is seeking host families for the 2017-18 school year for its exchange student program, which annually welcomes a foreign student to the community. A male student from Hungary will be coming for the program, said Sam Pendergrast, pastor of First Presbyterian Church and youth exchange officer for the Rome Rotary Club.

Typically a student lives with three different families through the course of a school year for about three-and-a-half months each – from late August through Thanksgiving, then through mid-March, and then through the end of June or early July, the Rotary Club said.

Prior participants in the program have included students from France, Ecuador and Taiwan, among many others.

Families who would like more information can contact Pendergrast at (315) 617-3567 or at Information about the Rotary Youth Exchange Program is at online. Families are asked to talk to Pendergrast before beginning an application.
