Rooted in Rome event Wednesday
Robotics, music performances, drone and culinary arts demonstrations, beer and coffee tastings, and a job fair will all be part of the events of Rooted in Rome Wednesday at Mohawk Valley Community College’s Rome campus, 1101 Floyd Ave.
The City of Rome, Rome City School District, Rome Memorial Hospital, Mohawk Valley Community College and Griffiss Business and Technology Park want the community to come out to see “how we’re growing.”
The event is free and open to the public from 4 to 7 p.m. Job seekers are able to get an early start at 3 p.m. to explore career opportunities with Rome area businesses.
“Rooted in Rome will be a fresh look at our city’s best assets and demonstrate why Rome is a great community for all generations to live, work, and thrive. Each of the partner organizations will be present along with many others to show how Rome has grown in new and unexpected ways,” the city noted. “For example, discover Rome Memorial Hospital’s compassionate, connected care, and its plan to provide needed urgent care services for the community. Learn how our schools cultivate potential. See our city’s vision for the future.”
In addition to the interactive displays, there will also be tastings available from Copper City Brewing Co. a coffee tasting station compliments of Rome Hospital Foundation and hors d’oeuvres catered by the MVCC culinary program.
