Dozens win awards at 61st annual Rome Science Fair

A total of 52 students and 38 entries were featured in the 61st annual Rome Science Fair’s senior division results for grades 7-12, with 32 awards presented in the event conducted by the Rome Academy of Sciences.

The senior division fair, held Saturday at Rome Free Academy, followed a junior/senior science fair Feb. 28 at the New York State School for the Deaf (NYSSD), with 28 students participating and 10 awards presented.

The theme for this year’s science fair was “Life is better through Chemistry,” said Paul Phister, the fair chairman and president of the Rome Academy of Sciences. Among senior division winners Saturday:
