City announces hiring of deputy treasurer
The city has hired Brian Adams as deputy treasurer. Adams comes to City Hall from a position at Birnie Bus Services.
Adams, age 32, replaces Pasquale Lisandrelli, who left the city after 15 years. Lisandrelli left the position in late November. Adams began Jan. 8.
“We liked his experience at Birnie Bus,” said Mayor Jacqueline M. Izzo. “We interviewed three candidates, and Brian just rose above the other two.” She said Adams’ experience with such a large organize and large customer base “fits well in dealing with the public.”
The mayor said Treasurer David C. Nolan “was looking for someone who would be very receptive to learning municipal accounting principles.”
Adams lives at 6621 Bartlett Road. He was an accounting assistant at Birnie starting in August 2015 before taking the city job. Before that he was a senior trade specialist with Bank of New York Mellon in Oriskany for five years.
He is a Rome Free Academy graduate who earned his associate’s degree in business management from Mohawk Valley Community College and his bachelor’s in business administration from SUNY Geneseo. He is married to the former Michele Piperata.
The salary for the position is $49,108.
