Chamber honors president, business manager for service
The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce is honoring two employees for milestone years of service.
President William K. Guglielmo is in his 45th year at the chamber and business manager Suzanne M. Jenks is in her 20th year there.
Guglielmo has been president since 1996. He was a staff assistant for six years starting in 1973 when he joined the chamber.
He was promoted to director of government affairs and membership development, where he worked through 1986. He became acting administrator for two years, then spent two years as administrator.
He served as executive vice president from 1988 to 1996.
He earned his associate’s degree in business administration at SUNY Morrisville then a bachelor’s degree in management science at the University of Buffalo.
He has been involved in all facets of chamber management, financial operations, sales, marketing, promotion and advocacy in his time there.
He is a graduate of six-year Institute of Organization Management program sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and has been a member of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives for over 25 years.
He is also a member of the Business Council of New York State, Chamber Alliance of New York State and past president and current member of the Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley.
Jenks joined the chamber as a secretary and receptionist in 1998.
She became an information services representative in 2001 then became an account administrator in 2004.
She moved to her current role, business manager and licensed insurance broker, in 2011.
Jenks is a graduate of the Utica School of Commerce Live, Accident, and Health program.
