Nativity Pageant Dec. 10 at St. Mary’s/St. Peter’s Church

The young people of St. Mary’s/St. Peter’s Church will present the parish’s annual Nativity Pageant on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. in the church, 105 E. Liberty St.

The pageant is the re-telling of the story of Jesus’ birth with songs and narration. Nearly 50 children and teens from the parish are participating in this event. Admission is free, and the public is welcome.

Portraying the part of Mary is Angelina Occhipinti, with Carson Ford as Joseph and Elizabeth LaPointe as the Innkeeper. The special angels who visit Mary and Joseph are played by Keeley Duffy and Payton Boris, respectively; while the Three Kings will be acted by Eric Sheldon, Bradley Campos and Connor Waters.

Angels in the pageant include Kaylee Belevick, Isabella Bulson, Amelia Campos, Calista Campos, Gianna Detrick, Annika Detrick, Anja Dunn, Siobhan Firsching, Madelyn Hummel, Madeline Knamm, Danica Lemmon, Eleanor Mack, Caylin Moore, Breeanna Norris, Brooke Parry, Sloane Sestito, and Alexis Waters.

Shepherds are played by Conrad Beacraft-Ziegler, Connor Dunn, Jesse Horowitz, Richie Johnson, Levi Rogers, Frankie Russo, Landon Volz, Parker Volz.

Narrating the story are Wyatt Knamm, Erika Reid, Rachel Horowitz, Elizabeth Firsching and Jonathan Norris.

Featured performers are the Nativity Singers, comprised mainly of teens from the parish, who will lead the singing throughout the pageant and in addition, are featured soloists on “Do You Hear What I Hear?” Nativity Singers include Emma Bisgrove, Ethan Bisgrove, Emma Preski, Mimi Preski, Mariah Taylor and Sven von Hoesel.

As well, featured performers include Jon and Jacob Carissimo who will perform the duet “Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth,” made famous by Bing Crosby and David Bowie. They will be accompanied by Patrick O’Neil on snare drum, and by Cathy Ziemba on piano.

Ziemba is the pianist for all of the songs on the program. Traditional carols included in the performance of the pageant are O Come All Ye Faithful, O Little Town of Bethlehem, The First Noel, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, We Three Kings, Silent Night and Joy to the World.

The Nativity Pageant is co-directed by Colleen O’Neil and Laura Mack, with assistance from members of the “Sundays at 3” concert committee. A complimentary reception follows, along with an old fashioned Christmas carol sing-a-long, in the downstairs social hall.
