Foothills Rural Community Ministry announces October hours

HOLLAND PATENT — Foothills Rural Community Ministry has announced its October hours.

Th three of the programs offered by Foothills Rural Community Ministry are located at the Presbyterian Church. They are the Foothills Food Pantry, Country Corner Thrift Shop and Sarah’s Pet Pantry.

The services will be available 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14. The location will not be open on the normal third Saturday in October due to the Presbyterian Church’s turkey dinner. The final day of operation in October will be on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On this date there will also be a WIC clinic at the church to serve the needs of those in the area using the services.

The site is in need of donated nonperishable food items. The pantry serves an average of 160 families from the seven townships in the service area. Those families may also get pet food from Sarah’s Pet Pantry. The Country Corner Thrift Store, which is open to the public, offers used clothing and small household items. Also accepted are used clothing and small household items. Donated items may be dropped off on any day the site is open or on Monday and Thursday each week during office hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The site reminds people to redeem farmers market coupons.
